The principle of hard punishments is well-known. It has become even louder nowadays, where our days are dominated by social conflicts; enforcing the law, showing criminals their limits, a strong state in a time of trouble and hectic pace. However, looking at it more closely, it can be seen that the criminal policy increases social conflicts, rather than solving them. This is namely due to prison and it questions it as an institution as such. What does a state want to achieve with imprisonment?
